Torque converter judder. Previous repair facility (non- franchise, privately owned) replaced tires, axles, 2 engine mounts chasing a “vibration on acceleration” concern...
...While driving the car with the computer linked, when the car is doing what the customer is concerned about, I can hit the “trigger” and the computer records all the data for the transmission. When I get back to the shop, I can configure all the sensor readings I want to see, convert it into line graph form, and voila! You have squiggly lines that represent what the customer is describing. Which also confirm that the problem is isolated inside of the torque converter.

14 Sierra. My mistake actually, I put a radiator in and didn’t get a cooler hose seated all the way. I cooked the tranny on a test drive....
I wish I had realized what happened. But I didn’t until it started slipping and it burnt up quick. I’ve seen these things towed in bone dry. we usually just fill them up and ship it. I didn’t get so lucky though. Yeah free rebuilds

that last one made my arse pucker. I hated when idiots wouldn’t tell me they dumped in Fix-a-Flat before I put the wheel on the machine and broke the beads. shit stinks like ammonia and leaves nasty residue anywhere it gets on you.

IDK if the posts were more cringey and less puzzling this week, but I figured out the issue in almost all of them pretty quickly. I did listen to some Car Talk yesterday so maybe that’s temporarily boosted my powers of automotive deduction (though it’s certainly done little for my hands-on skill).
Thanks as always!

Thing is those cages do bend in an explosion, though here it seems like mainly the ceiling would be at risk.

I took mine to work a couple times when he was little enough. You might remember I’m a pipe organ technician- nice of the builders of this one to have installed changing tables:
It was fun climbing the ladder with him in the carrier ha.

I saw your FP comment about the new CT5 and I have no commenting rights in the Jellopicnic so I wanted to let you know this: CTS stands for Cateta Touring Sedan, not Cadillac Touring Sedan because the CTS was supposed to be the direct successor to the Cavalier-based Catera in 2002 for the 2003 MY. Here's your comment in question: https://jalopnik.com/1833370504

“CTS” stands for Catera Touring Sedan , but “CT5” stands for Cadillac Touring 5 . Source: Cadillac Names Its Flagship “CT6,” Will Name All Future Cars CT#

Ah. So NOW the Catera is officially dead 100%.

Yeah, GM plays so many name games, it’s hard to keep anything straight. From FWD “Blazer”s and “Monte Carlo ”s to rear/mid-engine “ Corvette” s, to “ Lumina”s that could be either cars or vans ... and don’t even get me started on what they did to t he “ Cu tlass”!
GM has a big problem with brand identity.

Nothing beats BMW though....I don't even wanna get into their name game

Thanks! I gotta ad mit though , y ou guys are really missing out if you’re only watching my roundups . Every we ek I have to trim off some really good ones to keep it down to about two dozen entries. This week, I almost posted a tire that was full of Great Stuff instead of the Fix-a-Flat one... that was a hard call to make.

I give them both an A+ in D adlopniking!
